The Conqueror

Our Story

My mother served as a 3rd grade teacher at a private school for 34 years. My parents served together in children's ministry for a period of time, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have served as a Children's Pastor in a church plant in a rural community for almost three years along with volunteering in children's ministry for more than 20 years. From piano lessons, teaching, training and mentoring, to drama, singing and outreach, impacting children's lives has always been a huge part of our family.

Several years ago, while driving through a neighborhood during Halloween, I was startled by the number of ghoulish yard decorations. After hearing about several children that were frightened to drive through the neighborhood because of the decorations, a thought came...

As an answer to the ghostly yard adornments, the thought came to create an angel with his foot on the Devil's head, representing a conqueror of fear and all things scary.

So, this year during Halloween, kids will see a change of scenery and perhaps be intrigued and encouraged. In a scary world filled with uncertainty and fear--they'll see The Conqueror standing eight feet tall, illuminated in the front yard.
